My Story - From Highschool to College

Untitled design

Hi, I am Mallory Baskin, the founder of AfterHighSchool.com. I decided to create this site to cater specifically to students in their last years of high school as they attempt to decide what they want to do next.

Why Did I Start This Site?

I had a decent high school experience but I worked like a dog. Chasing grades and class standings and stacking extracurriculars up like firewood in an attempt to make myself more appealing to colleges. I lost the last 2 years of high school betting on having a big return in college.

Then college didn’t go how I planned it. I ended up changing majors, and then changing schools. All that led to lost scholarships, credits that didn’t transfer, and a lack of purpose. The stress and the feeling like I waited so long, worked so hard, and given up so much for something like this was crushing me.

I decided I wanted kids to know all the things it took me years and tons of student loans to start to figure out. I wanted to offer a resource for kids and parents to use as they prepared for college or whatever was coming after high school.

What Can You Learn Here?

Want to know more about me?

If for some strange reason you want to know more about me, my backstory, or my super cool opinions on things outside of education, you can find me on the web in a few different places. The first is my personal website. It isn’t as up-to-date as it probably should be but feel free to poke around.

The second is my Twitter. This is going to give you the best chance of getting a hold of me and probably give you more of me and my thoughts than you ever wanted. Feel free to follow or message me there.
